Many years ago I learnt to shape and weld metal in the automotive trade. I created a few simple and crude sculptures in steel and to my surprise people wanted to buy them. My work became more accomplished as I 'got my eye in'. I was, over the years more interested in making sculpture that commented on social, political and environmental issues and many works became rather grim and difficult to live with. 'You wouldn't want one in your living room' was an often heard comment. However, commissions flowed from this body of work, some of which are present on this web site.
